Over the Christmas holiday I received a text from my soon to be sister-in-law that proves she knows me well. It said (in not so exact terms because my cell phone memory is laughably small and I can't retrieve the message) that we might want to check out permits for Mt. Saint Helen's over the week of their wedding in August just in case, you know, we wanted to climb it. Mt. Saint Helen's is in Washington state and not too far from the airport we'd be flying in and out of for their wedding in Oregon.
Ohhhhhh, a new mountain to climb. Wait, no - a VOLCANO to climb. Dude, we were in.
I didn't book right then and there, but a month or so later Jen let us know that not only were she and Jason climbing, but that it had turned in to a family affair. We booked permits (less than a hundred a day) so that we could climb with the newlyweds and my parents. Yeah - my parents! I'm excited for them, and proud that they'll be tackling it with us. And who knows, maybe we'll
This year is shaping up to be pretty amazing! Thankful we're in a position where if we work hard, we can play hard in between the working. It's a short life - might as well do it right. (And for those tracking Drew's wrist surgery - we're on hard cast number two, which should be off before Hawaii!)
